I have over ten years experience of working therapeutically with children, and over thirty years of experience working with them in schools. In addition to the Picture Tapping qualification, I am an Advanced practitioner in the Emotional Freedom Technique, and a fully qualified and accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, and further training in working with children and young people through the arts.
While I find that children and young people are able to express themselves from a very young age through conventional talking therapies ( usually from 5 or 6 years) I find that creative approaches such as picture tapping are particularly suitable for the way children see the world, and their difficulties, and the creative element helps them to engage particularly well with the work, which increases both their enthusiasm, and the effectiveness of the work.
I work either, face to face, over the phone or using Skype.
